The problem has been with the press that has been associated with her designer bride and bridesmaid wear. The divorce of Kim Kardashian has left a stigma on the Vera Wang line that may have permanent effects on the Vera Wang fashion line. This remains to be seen, but there has been a great deal of speculation concerning this event in the fashion industry as a whole.

With the marriage between Kim Kardashian and basketball star Kris Humphries on the rocks, it seems that the Vera Wang line may also be having problems marketing the new wedding dresses. If they will not symbolize a marriage that will last, what is the marketing of these wedding dresses to be? It seems that there is no current commentary on this coming from the Vera Wang company.

Even without any specific word from the Vera Wang company, it does seem that they go ahead with the line is in full swing. The designer has revealed that she would be adding two dresses to the White collection by Vera Wang, these being marketed through the David’s Bridal company. They are a collection that was inspired by the Kim Kardashian wedding dress, these are to be one of a kind dresses. She also would be designing a more affordable version of the ballgown she created for Kardashian. It is assumed that bridesmaid dresses would be part of this line as well. The line for David’s Bridal is scheduled for release in February.

If this current press does not leave its mark on the designer and her work, then they will probably continue to go on with business as usual. Vera Ellen Wang was born in New York City on June 27, 1949. Both her parents, born from Shanghai, China migrated to the United States in 1940. Her mother employed by the United Nations while her her father owned a medicine company. While in high school Vera trained as a figure skater and even competed in the 1968 U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Wang graduates from Sarah Lawrence College, where she majored in art history. Soon after, Wang gets employed as an assistant to a fashion director at Vogue. Working there for 16 years Wang decides to leave and starts working for Ralph Lauren as an accessories designer.

After some years of dating on and off businessman Arthur Becker, Wang gets engaged and starts to plan her wedding. After looking for the perfect wedding dress and unsatisfied with the wedding dresses available, she hires a dress maker and creates her own design. The dress was estimated at $ 10,000. Because of this frustration and with the financial help of her father, Wang opens up her shop in the posh Carlyle Hotel on Madison Avenue.

Vera Wang soon became a household name in upscale, couture wedding dresses, outfitting the likes of Victoria Beckham, Hillary Duff, Jennifer, Gardner, Kim Kardahian and many more A-listers and socialites. In 1994 Vera Wang designs the ensemble worn by figure skater Nancy Kerrigan. This is where she receives international notoriety.
